Organic and Conventional growers have the same median soil health score.

In this graph, we divided our 84 sites into 3 groups: growers using conventional growing methods (red bars), growers using organic growing methods (yellow bars), and non-farm sites where no crop is grown (green bars), such as grasslands and forests.  The height of each colored bar represents the soil health score at that particular site. We then computed the median score for each group. The median scores of our conventional and organic growers are essentially the same: 13.62 and 13.67. However, the median score of our non-farm sites is much higher: 20.97. So organic or conventional methods do NOT seem to make a difference for soil health.
